Here’s a fabulous recipe for homemade play dough (thanks, Teacher Doug). No matter what your age is, there’s really nothing like rolling a cold ball of orange play dough scented with peppermint oil on a fresh October morning.
2c flour
1c salt
2c water
2T oil
2T cream of tartar
Color & scent as desired. Mix all ingredients together in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until dough clumps together. (This is a physically strenuous activity.) If there are any lumpy bits, some kneading can fix that. Store in plastic bags in the refrigerator.
