Autumn Apple Stamping
Decorating for holidays – not “the holidays” but any holiday really – is always a popular activity around here. And if you ask my son, if it’s printed on the calendar, it’s a holiday. He still has his window ringed with construction paper M’s and D’s from Mother’s Day.
Since yesterday was the Autumnal Equinox, I googled something like “Autumnal Equinox Kids” to come up with some craft/activity/recipe to ring in the new season with the kids. Apple stamping sounded good. I had apples, paint, and a new roll of paper from our weekend trip to IKEA. So I covered half the dining room table with the paper, cut a few apples, gave the kids some paint on paper plates and let them go at it. There wasn’t much stamping involved, but lots of swirling, swiping, and body painting. Overall, a fun and easy autumn activity. There were also lots of ideas out there involving fall leaves, but since it’s still over 100 degrees here, we’re not quite jumping in the crunchy leaf piles and drinking hot cocoa yet!
