One of the best tips I’ve received this year is to give my three year old a flashlight to keep on his bedside table - for when he hears a noise or thinks he sees something creepy in his room. It has really empowered him and helped him get to sleep much easier. But with the batteries wearing out at an alarming rate, I’m looking into crank flashlights.

We tested a different brand at REI today (this Freeplay Kito LED Flashlight was in the package, so we couldn’t “test-drive” it) and my son really liked turning the crank. I like the kid-friendly blue color, and the fact that I would never need to buy or throw away batteries for this flashlight. I think it would make a great husband stocking stuffer too!
