Breakfast ideas for moms and kids
I recently switched back to my favorite breakfast. I toast a slice of multigrain bread, then top it with raw crunchy almond butter, half a banana sliced, and a drizzle of honey. Add a cup of coffee, and it is such a satisfying breakfast.
For the kids, I love this idea from Muffin Tin Mom Michelle (who I had the pleasure of sitting next to at one of the BlogHer conference sessions this summer) to make breakfasts in jars. She makes a breakfast parfait in a mason jar, layering cereal, yogurt and strawberries. You could also make steel cut oats, then pop in the microwave and heat. I love that you can make these ahead of time, and they’re portable for those mornings when you’re rushing out the door and there isn’t much time for the kids to sit and eat breakfast.

For Local Blog

we make pancakes and waffles from scratch on the weekends and freeze the extras. then in the mornings we just have to pop them in the toaster and he gets a hot breakfast in a sliver of the time.
I need to do this. My kids will love you for suggesting it. Thanks Ondrea!
Loving the breakfast ideas! I’m still hooked on the cereal mix that you wrote about on Fun Finds, and I add 1/2 banana and berries. And second choice is the parfait! Love the egg whites in mug w/chopped veggies, sprinkled with cheese in the cooler weather. Love to hear some more simple, healthy suggestions for warm breakfasts as “Winter” approaches (I know Phoenix Winter is like Spring to lots of other parts of the world!) Ondrea’s ideas were great!
