I’m loving these teeny tiny gumball machines. They’re 5″ tall and come with 30 gumballs. I kind of want to plan a bubble-themed party around them.
$3.25 or $2.95 for 24 or more at beaucoup

I think my daughter is graduating from the bow phase to the ponytail phase. I just might have to get these cute little Lily Pulitzer fabric covered button ponytail holders from the LiliBug shop on Etsy. I ordered this bow from Lisa at LiliBug earlier this year and love it.
$4 for a set of two [...]

I wrote about making ice cream in a bag not too long ago, and now I’ve learned that you can also make homemade slushies in a bag. Ah, sweet cold lemon goodness. It’s an activity, science project and snack all in one. Just fill a big ziploc with ice and 3 tablespoons or so of [...]

I’m a real tea set lover, so it’s been hard deciding which one to get my daughter for her second birthday. I think I’ve decided on this one from Green Toys. Like all the company’s toys, it’s made from recycled plastic milk jugs. It contains no BPA or phthalates and is safe to eat and [...]

My sister just sent me an article about a study that says most sunscreens we’re using to protect our kids just don’t work. And the worst offenders are Coppertone, Banana Boat and Neutrogena. The Banana Boat Tear Free I’ve been using on my kids for years received a 9 out of 10 on the [...]

My son is just about to graduate from his toddler bed to a honest to goodness big boy bed. So now I’m trying to decide what’s best. A bunk bed that would be fun when he’s older and has friends sleep over? A trundle bed to store the extra sleeping space away when it’s not [...]

What’s a July 4th celebration without homemade ice cream? One of these days, I’ll get my hands on a crank ice cream maker like the one we used when I was a kid. But for now, this homemade ice cream in a bag recipe looks fast, easy, and fun for the kids. All you need [...]

I was delighted to get a package from Natural Pod last week containing this Small Stacking Rainbow and a few other goodies I’ll tell you about soon. I have long admired this stacking rainbow because to me, it represents the simplicity and beauty of natural wood toys in general. The layers are made from solid [...]

I know it’s not Monday, but I just stumbled upon a great idea on Sycamore Stirrings for serving fun bento-box style lunches in muffin tins. It’s kind of like taking the kid salad idea to the next level and making a whole meal out of it. I’m excited to give it a try!

If you like tiny versions of food, you will love this book. My favorites are these “doughnuts” made from cheerios, and the finger-sized ice cream cones, which use Bugles for the cone, and a melon baller to make the teensy scoops. Use the “Search Inside” tool on Amazon to flip through some photos of these [...]
