I love these 39″ tin star garlands for decking out the house for a festive Fourth. I think these would look great strung across a mantle, or maybe even cut off the garland and scattered on a table for some star spangled drama.

At my son’s swim school, they required this kind of swim diaper for all kids under age 3. I somehow misunderstood the rule and thought all kids had to wear these, so I had him in the biggest size Imse Vimses, even after he turned 3. I figured all the big kids were wearing them [...]

Am I crazy thinking this would make a cute beach cover-up? I’m not sure if caftans are kind of chic now or if they are still too Mrs. Roper-y. This one, which has a “jeweled neckline and turquoise embroidery” was featured on the back cover of a catalog I just got in the mail from [...]

I bought a huge tub of fresh strawberries at Costco last week and wasn’t sure how our family of four was going to eat them all before they spoiled. Fortunately, it was Strawberry Week over at Design Crush, where I got the idea to make these strawberry tarts. They looked pretty and tasted okay, but [...]

June is National Iced Tea Month. Yay for the refreshing zero calorie beverage! I find that iced tea can be kind of like gum, because if you feel like munching on something, and instead pour yourself a big glass of iced tea, you will usually be pretty satisfied with that summery, yes I am going [...]

If I knew how to sew, these are the kinds of baby things I’d make. The Etsy shop Bits for Baby offers great selection of appliqued onesies with matching bibs, pacifier pouches and burp cloths. I love appliqued clothing both for its texture and because it says “Looky here! A lot of love went into [...]

I admit I was a wee bit too into the details of planning my wedding. Many hours were spent picking out the perfect invitations, designing the little maps printed on vellum paper, stuffing the tissue paper in each one, and of course selecting the perfect lovey dovey flower stamps. Once the invitations were complete, I [...]

Clearly I don’t pay enough attention when cruising the cereal aisle, because I just discovered Fruity Cheerios yesterday. And they’ve been for sale for two years. So I’ll take a chance that this Froot Loop alternative is new to you too. Why do I love them so? They’re made with whole grains and with less [...]

I went to the mall this weekend and was so glad I did. Crazy sales everywhere. I was going to write about this bathing suit I bought for my daughter, but then these preppy plaid sunglasses caught my eye. So very Jackie O. For a laugh, you might also want to check out these oversize [...]

I ordered this book about a month ago, after reading about it on Salt and Chocolate. If you’re going to buy one book with ideas for fun and quick activities to fill the long days of summer with your preschooler, this is it. I’ve never made a musical instrument, and I’m not particularly crafty, but [...]
