Cereal Mix

cereal-mix.jpg

My mom is big on food “mixtures”. Many times they’re foods that really have no business being combined. However, I think she’s onto something with her cereal mixes. I had been meaning to mix up my own cereal concoction for some time, so when she gave me a big Tupperware container the other day, I finally got to work. My first batch includes Kix, Rice Chex, Raisin Bran Crunch, Cheerios, Cinnamon Puffins and a high-fiber honey mix from Trader Joe’s. It makes cereal prep easy in the morning, and gives the kids just the right amount of sweet flavor plus the nutrition they need.

Hey Phyllis & Lains! I’m a TOTAL cereal mixer!!! But you gals are serious, I’m lucky if I get three types mixed, and Lains, you had SIX!!!! Holy Cannoli (s/p)!!! Anyway, I just had to comment, because Allie too loves the mixtures and I love “hiding” all the “good-for-you” stuff!!! Our current favorite is called “tic tac toe…x’s and o’s! (trader’s high fiber o’s and mighty bites!) So, keep up the fabulous site, Lains, honestly, I want to comment every day because I JUST LOVE IT!!!! It is truly one of my favorite things to look forward to each afternoon when the kiddos nap and I can check the day’s email!!! :o)

It’s kind of feast or famine in the cereal department at our house. We just happened to have a big selection on hand. And please comment any time. That’s what makes this site so fun for me — getting comments and emails!!
