Fun Finds For Mom

Deals on classic kids toys for early holiday shoppers

I ordered some toys for the kids from Duluth Trading Company last year, and the quality and service was great. They just extended their offer of 20% off orders of $75 or more through November 14. Duluth Trading Company sells a lot of classic toys in their original designs. They’re not cheap, but for good reason. They seem like toys that come straight from Santa’s workshop, and that will entertain kids and stimulate their creativity far beyond the holidays. I know the economy stinks, so maybe this year is the time to cut back on the quantity and give kids the quality toys we loved when we were kids.

Here are some of my favorites:

Wood Pogo Stick – $42.50 (authentic rendition of the original 1918 model)

Wood Marble Run – $32.50:

Kids Tool Set – $29.50 – The real thing sized for kids:

Frontier Logs – $32.50 – made of solid hardwood dyed with vegetable based colors, not plastic like Lincoln Logs. Great gift for a 5 year old. My son got these last year when he was almost 4, and he’s just now starting to really play with them. He built a “Pony Express” today and was very proud.
