Easy Watermelon Sorbet

My friend Sara is compared to Martha on a regular basis — the cooking, the sewing, the decorating… you name it.  She can either do it, or she’ll figure out how to do it. One day last year, she brought her watermelon sorbet as the preschool snack — probably with some delicious homemade muffins — and I asked her for the recipe. She sent me not only the recipe, but these gorgeous step by step photos too. I’ve had these in my inbox since last November, so without further adieu, here it is:
Sara’s Watermelon Sorbet Recipe
1. puree cubes of 1/2 or more of a seedless watermelon
2. add juice from one lime and sugar to taste
3. pour mixture into ice cream freezer (you can skip this step)
4. spoon watermelon sorbet into dixie cups and add sticks

So sweet and delicious. I have a big old watermelon in the fridge that needs to be turned into sorbet pronto.

Yes, the watermelon juice does sound good. Or, you could put them in the freezer instead of the ice cream maker, and leave them for a short time to get slushy, or a long time to make watermelon popsicles. Yummers.

I made watermelon popsicles yesterday, skipping the ice cream machine and freezing the puree in dixie cups. Also, I didn’t have any limes, so I added a splash of lemonade instead. They’re delicious!
