Fruity Cheerios
Clearly I don’t pay enough attention when cruising the cereal aisle, because I just discovered Fruity Cheerios yesterday. And they’ve been for sale for two years. So I’ll take a chance that this Froot Loop alternative is new to you too. Why do I love them so? They’re made with whole grains and with less sugar than most sugary cereal, while still tasting like the forbidden “froot” I was never allowed to have as a kid. And one serving is 100 calories, 1 gram of fat and 2 grams of fiber (no need to get out your WW sliding scale. that’s 2 points). I will be sprinkling some into the kids’ cereal mix instead of the Strawberry Frosted Mini-Wheats we usually add sparingly to give them a little something sweet. Today I had a bowl for breakfast, and another for a snack. So I already have 50% of my daily iron intake under my belt. Literally.
