Imse Vimse Swim Diapers
At my son’s swim school, they required this kind of swim diaper for all kids under age 3. I somehow misunderstood the rule and thought all kids had to wear these, so I had him in the biggest size Imse Vimses, even after he turned 3. I figured all the big kids were wearing them under their trunks. Putting two layers of bathing suits seemed silly to me, since my kid was digging his European-looking bathing attire anyway. And I really loved these Imse Vimses too. They are super easy to get off and on, with snaps on one side. But to make a long story short, I figured out the rule and he’s happily transitioned into big boy swim trunks.
Now that my daughter is swimming nearly every day, I’m realizing I need to get her a pair of these Imse Vimses to wear under her bathing suit. They don’t cost much more than a package of disposable swim diapers, and I can do my little part for the environment by “cloth diapering” while she’s in the pool. If I hadn’t just bought her a bathing suit, I’d pair the bottoms with a matching Tankini Top. Because while it’s called a swim diaper, it’s really a bathing suit all on its own.
