Kids Costume Cabinet

costume-cabinet.jpg

The big fundraising auction for my son’s preschool is coming up later this month. This year the Three’s class is providing a “Costume Cabinet” as our group project. Each family has contributed a different dress-up costume, and they’ll all be housed in IKEA’s Hemnes Kids Wardrobe. So far, we have an astronaut, pirate, cowboy (with horse!), chef, princess, firefighter, dragon, magician, and construction worker. Whoever ends up with this item is going to have a ton of fun playing make-believe.

Usually I only write about things you can buy online, so if you don’t live near an IKEA, I am so sorry. But if you like this idea, I’m sure there are many other costume-worthy cabinets out there. And if you plan ahead, a great time to get costumes is right after Halloween. I just checked and the Pottery Barn Kids Sale section still has several Halloween costumes on sale.

$159 at an IKEA store near you (I hope)

What a fabulous idea for your school’s auction. I love that. Children love dress up and what a great way to promote imagination and play.
