Listen to great music on your computer from Pandora

I’ve been listening to Pandora Internet radio lately as background music while working on the computer or doing mom stuff around the house. And I’m loving it for a few reasons. One, it’s not the Wiggles, or the Music Together CD. And two, it’s great new music that I like. If you don’t already know about Pandora, here’s basically how it works. You get to create your own stations, based on your favorite artist, song, or composer. The brilliant people behind Pandora have classified thousands of songs based on their musical attributes, so when you tell them what you like, they play more of the kind of music that you like. If you don’t like a song, you can skip to the next one. You can even give a thumbs up or thumbs down to each song, so that it gets even smarter about the kind of music you like. The hard part is keeping the volume on the computer down when the kids are sleeping because it’s that good.

(I read about Pandora on How About Orange about a year ago, and filed it away in my brain but never actually tried it until recently. Don’t let a year slip by. It’s too fun to have good music at your fingertips for free!)

Just wanted you to know, I am hooked on Pandora, got my husband hooked on Pandora, and now he has turned friends onto it as well! I just wish I could download all the songs as they play, so I have them on my ipod! My favorites? Michael Buble, Jason Mraz, Plain White T’s, and Sara Bariallas. I think I spelled that wrong. Anyway, if you like vocals and acoustic instrumentation, you’ll love these! Thanks for the heads up!!

I’ll have to check out your favorites! Oh how I wish I could download the songs onto my iPod too. There is a Pandora version available for the iPhone now (for those of you who have one of those nifty gadgets).
