There are several different brands of bottle that are supposed to have neck openings wide enough to admit standard ice cubes. The problem is that every ice tray I've seen makes different sized ice cubes. I have seen ice cubes that were cylinders about the size of your finger, but they are hard to find.

Thank you so much for the "ice tube" tip. I love it! Here's a link to one of these trays: http://www.swissbottle.com/ViewProduct.asp?ModelNumber=6999.00

They're on sale for $4.99. And I think it would be kind of fun to use these ice sticks in regular glasses too!

I also like the aluminum water bottles and my kids got them as back-to-school gifts from their aunt. However the skinny necks drove me crazy trying to get crushed ice into them. More ice ended up in the sink and on the floor than in the bottle. I found some skinny ice cube trays at my neighborhood Safeway that saved the day. I guess they are actually "ice-rectangle" trays. I don't know if they still have them since it was in the "back-to-school" section and now it is apparently Christmas season at my Safeway. (Can't we enjoy the current holiday before having to skip ahead two holidays and feel behind before it even starts?!) I'd look in the lunch box section for these handy ice trays.
