Fun Finds For Mom

Make these cookies.

healthy-cookies

I read about these cookies on one of my favorite blogs, Salt and Chocolate, today. And I made them this afternoon with my son. They are healthy (no sugar, no butter) and delicious, and actually they taste healthily delicious. Oaty, cinnamony and chocolatey. I used half raisins, half chocolate chips, whole wheat flour, and skipped the coconut and nuts. My maple syrup was Safeway brand ‘lite’ syrup, with mucho high fructose corn syrup, so if you used real maple syrup, they’d be that much healthier and more delicious. I think I’ll use honey instead of syrup next time I make them – which may be tomorrow, they’re so good.

You’re making me hungry! I will make these, and if my kids and husband treat me right I will let them have bite. :)

Mmmm. I think you should save at least 1 or 2 samples of all the delicious recipes that you post for grandma’s tasting and approval! What time should I come by for these delicious treats looking treats? :)

I was snack mom today, so I brought them all to school (those that remained – I ate 3 last night, and the kids sampled a couple.) We dubbed them “granola bites” – sounds much healthier than “cookies” right? They were all gobbled up – including the crumbs. Yum.
