Reusable bottles for the kids

My son’s preschool has a new practice this year of having kids bring their own bottles of water, instead of going through dozens of paper cups every week. He’s been bringing his Nalgene bottle full of ice water, but now that he’s staying for lunch bunch on some days, I think it’s time to buy another bottle to pack his milk in the lunchbox.
I was sort of surprised there aren’t more choices of reusable (eco-friendly) kids bottles out there. I predict lots of new products entering the market now that everyone is beginning to focus on the everyday efforts they can make to help the environment. And cutting down on disposable plastic bottle usage is a great way to start.
Two good choices I found online are the Klean Kanteen and SIGG Kids bottles. I like the 12 oz. Klean Kanteen bottle kit I found at reusablebags.com. It comes with a Built NY insulated bottle sleeve which seems pretty useful for keeping the bottle sweat inside, and giving little hands a good grippy surface to grab.

SIGG Kids bottles look pretty darn fun too. They come in various designs, colors and sizes, and…are you ready… they’re “Swiss-engineered from a single piece of aluminum”. I’m sure this means something important to someone.
