You may have heard about the plane crash that happened in Arizona on August 16th. It was a private plane carrying Stephanie and Christian Nielson, and Christian’s flight instructor, Doug Kinneard, who died the following day. Stephanie is the woman behind the popular blog Nie Nie Dialogues. I had read about Stephanie here and there over the past year, and while I have never met her, I feel a kinship with her since we’re both mom bloggers living in Arizona. She and her husband are recovering from severe burns and are in a chemical-induced coma. Stephanie’s sister is providing updates on her blog at c jane run

Ever since reading about this horrible accident, I’ve had Stephanie, Christian and their four kids in my thoughts and prayers, but didn’t know what I could do to help. Then today, I read that the wonderful Design Mom has established this coming Thursday as Nie Nie Day, and she’s put out the call for fellow bloggers to host silent auctions to benefit the Nielsons. In just the past few hours since I sent out some email requests for auction item donations, I’ve already received some really great things. It’s so moving to see how people come together over the Internet to give their support to others in need.
