With school starting in two short days, it won’t be long before the kids will need a semi-organized area to plop down and do their homework. This month for my Houzz Guestbook, I rounded up my 20 top product picks for creating a fun and functional study space. Lighting, furniture, pencils and pin boards are all included. Check it out here!

When my boys were in school they didn’t want to be in their rooms doing homework. They wanted to be with family. About that time we needed new dining room table. We found perfect one at garage sale. Without the leaf the table is 6ft long! It was great for everything from supper to birthday parties to board games to making goop and oh yes homework! Now the table is in my craft room and holds tons of card making “stuff”!
Sarita – our dining room table is also a gathering spot for eating, crafts, games, and sometimes homework. I’ve found that sometimes my kids can’t concentrate while sitting across from each other with their school work, so when they get a little crazy, I have them go to their desks in their rooms to get down to business! It’s also nice to have a quiet spot where I can help them individually without the other one interrupting!
