My neighborhood Starbucks barista told me that their much anticipated Holiday Drinks will arrive on November 1! It may be in nearly 100 degrees out here in Phoenix, but I know that when I get to sip my nonfat, extra hot, gingerbread latte with whipped cream, I will want to bundle up in my coziest sweater and break out my White Christmas CD! My favorite Starbucks holiday drink used to be the “non-fat” eggnog latte, which I would happily order almost every day before work, feeling so pleased with myself for indulging in the eggnog flavor without the fat and calories. Oh silly, naïve eggnog-drinking me. One day an honest barista gave me a look that said “you fool” as she explained to me that the drink is made with pure eggnog, and there’s NO SUCH THING as a fat-free eggnog latte. So please learn from my mistake – and if you really want to splurge on the nog, you can always order the “short” size which they don’t list on the menu, but it is secretly available. And if you are a true Starbucks fiend, you’ll probably get a kick out of the Starbucks Gossip site, where you can dish about all things Starbucks.
