Fun Finds For Mom

Sweets for the Neighbors

In the past few months, we’ve gotten two new sets of neighbors in homes that had been vacant for some time. I’ve been meaning to drop off a little something to welcome them to the neighborhood. Once I even went to drop off some baked treats, but nobody was home and I didn’t want to leave the goodies out for the critters.

So, when I was asked by BlogHer to participate in some holiday gift hunting with a $25 gift card from HomeGoods, I was up for the challenge. I think it was the first time I had been in a HomeGoods store. They have a huge selection of gifts, so it took me a while to decide what to get.

I ended up choosing two white porcelain bowls and 6 packets of holiday candy to pop in the bowls. What kind of candy you ask? Let me spread them out for you:

Yum, right? I also had to get these twin cherry lollipops, because they made me immediately think of Stephmodo’s cherry party:

When my gifties were all rung up, I had enough money left to buy a dark chocolate bar for my chocolate-lovin’ husband. Thanks to HomeGoods for the mini shopping spree. Now I need to wrap my candy bowls up with cute ribbon and tags and get them off to the neighbors. My kids are like hungry wolves every time they spot them on the counter!
