Turn your toddler’s favorite tee into a pillow

See my cute owl-loving niece Natalie hugging her new pillow? Well the owl was once on her t-shirt, which used to be my daughter’s shirt. I think my mom got it for her, so thanks mom – the shirt’s gotten a lot of mileage.

Natalie’s creative mom, my sis-in-law Dana, had it made into a pillow as part of Natalie’s “big girl” room makeover. I think this is such a clever way to hang onto a piece of a shirt that your little one loves, and outgrows — or in my case, a shirt your little one loves but becomes so covered with stains that they probably shouldn’t be wearing it out in public any more.
I was feeling bad for sending so many stained clothes to my niece (especially since the hand-me-downs I get from my other sis-in-law Trish are always in pristine condition) but this project makes me feel a little better. More stained clothes coming your way, Dana!
Read more about this project here and here.

Well, first of all, I guess we should thank Lily and her grandma for making this all possible
We loved the owl shirt when it fit, and we will continue to love it … right on through college …. I am convinced that NHV will take it with her
And obviously the stains weren’t too bad, she wore it all the time … and most likely added to the stains!
Secondly, I cannot say enough about the fabulous experience I’ve had with Lady Beez – she is enthusiastic and creative and talented and she’s a mom just like us! A custom pillow would make a very special gift for you little one! And it’s made with a removable pillow case so those stains can be washed right out
Thanks, Elaina, for sharing this idea with your readers!
What a thrill to read today’s Fun Find and the clever re-use of the beloved little owl. I remember distinctly picking that little shirt out at J.C. Penney’s in Pinetop. You never know what’s going to strike a child’s fancy so strongly, do you?
okay, seriously cute and creative, ladies!!! love everything about this post, especially the hand-me-down part, huge fan of all things handed down!!! and lains, all you need is oxi-clean powder, my friend! seriously, it gets the stains out of everything…kids and otherwise!!! the trick is to keep a bucket or laundry sink full and just throw the stained clothes in, let them really soak, rinse, and then launder it as you normally would. works every time!!! oh, and the oxi-clean spray spot remover is awesome too for quick, smaller stains!

I’m going to buy the oxi-clean pronto. I remember hearing that Biz worked like magic, but I have never once seen Biz in a store. Maybe oxi-clean is the same thing. Thanks Ash!
