Fun Finds For Mom

Fruit Squeezers

My friend Ashleigh told me about what I call “fruit squeezers” a few years ago, when she discovered them at Trader Joe’s. We’ve been buying the Trader Joe’s brand of these squeezable pouches of applesauce since then, and they’re perfect to pack in the kids’ lunchboxes.

I was getting a little tired of the same two flavors of the TJ’s brand, so I was excited to find out about these GoGo squeez pouches made in France by a company called Materne. These all fruit purees (with apples from the Val De Loire region of France. ooh la la.) come in lots of fun flavors — appleapple, applebanana, applecinnamon, applepeach and applestrawberry. I just tried the applepeach and it was delish. Yes, I bought them for the kids, but at 60 calories, less than a half a gram of fat, and 1 gram of fiber, it made a nice little treat for me too.

The Materne website has a page where you can locate where they’re sold near you (or you can buy a big batch of them on Amazon.com). They’re sold locally at Sprouts market.  Can’t wait to try all the other flavors!
